The Caldwell County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) exists to fund programs serving delinquent and at-risk youth and their families. Council members are appointed by the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners. Funding is provided by the State of NC Department of Public Safety. Awards are given to programs that address prioritized issues that are established annually after the Board reviews court data, information from the public schools, and Juvenile Court Counselors.
The JCPC Board meets on the first Thursday of the month at the Freedman Center Staff Development Room at the old William Lenoir Middle School. The staff development room is the former cafeteria.
